Playlist: The Fault in Our Stars (2)

Thursday, April 17, 2014 0 Comments
Way back in 2012, I shared a playlist of original songs done by fans of John Green's novel The Fault in Our Stars. (See my first playlist) Since the movie is going to be shown soon, I browsed youtube and found more awesome songs regarding the novel which I am sharing with you guys. I'm currently enjoying listening to them as I also start re-reading the novel before the movie comes out in June. I love these songs, hope you love them too. Enjoy listening!

Today's Tunes:
I was watching some book trailers over at youtube that featured a song by Augustana which I liked so I searched for the video, then I came across some artists which lead to another then another then came Jason Reeves which was on the Suggestion side. I liked his songs and it has been playing on my player for over a week now.

Reeves works as a solo artist and also as a co-writer with other artists.

Top Ten Tuesday & Tune In Tuesday: Songs that Reminds Me of Books

Wednesday, May 16, 2012 6 Comments

This weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.
This week was scheduled to be Top Ten Authors I'd Like To See On A Reality Show but it was kind of hard so they decided to make it a freebie week. And I, honestly am at a lost for a topic when I saw Tune In Tuesday which is:

A weekly feature hosted by GReads that showcases music.
This is my first Tune in Tuesday post. Wow! Why did I never found this weekly meme any sooner? Aside from being a bookworm I’m a big music lover at heart. They're topic is random playlist wherein you can share songs from your playlist on shuffle mode or share any song you'd like to share.

With that, I decided to combine the two. This list will be ten songs that reminds me of books I have read.

Here goes:

1. Song: Homeless, Dia Frampton
Book: Anna and the French Kiss, Stephanie Perkins

"Everywhere we go is home baby home, home is you're with me."

2. Song: Brighter at Night, Ash Koley
Book: Along for the Ride, Sarah Dessen

"What do we do when the sun comes down? When all that we do, we do when it's brighter at night."

3. Song: I Got You, Leona Lewis
   Book: Catching Jordan, Miranda Keneally

"A place to crash. I got you. No need to ask, I got you."

4. Song: Stolen, Dashboard Confessional
Book: The Summer I Turned Pretty, Jenny Han

"You have stolen my heart"

5. Song: Skip to the Good Part, He Is We
Book: The Truth about Forever, Sarah Dessen

"I never thought I'd find the hands to hold my heart. Whattya know? Let's skip to the good part. "
"I do and a kiss and forever starts"

6. Song: Thank You, Led Zeppelin
   Book: Just Listen, Sarah Dessen

"Thanks to you it will be done, for you to me are the only one."

*This song was mentioned a lot of times on the book.

7. Song: Landslide, Dixie Chicks
Book: It’s Not Summer Without You, Jenny Han

"Well I've been afraid of changin' 'cause I built my life around you."

8. Song: Arms, Christina Perri
   Book: This Lullaby, Sarah Dessen

"I never thought that you would be the one to hold my heart. But you came around and you knocked me off the ground from the start."

9. Song: Where are you now?, Honor Society
Book, Where She Went, Gayle Forman

"Where are you now? 'Cause I'm thinking of you."

10. Song: Glad You Came, The Wanted
     Book: Effortless, S.C. Stephens

"My universe will never be the same. I'm glad you came."

*A facebook page of Kellan Kyle (one of the main character from the book) posted this with this note" "Griffin thinks this song is really dirty. You should see the look on Kiera's face when he sings it. Ahhh, so funny." (And I'm never listening to this song the same way again. Haha.)

My oh-so-The-Voice-inspired October Playlist

Friday, October 21, 2011 0 Comments

A weekend with nothing to do got me to watch The Voice marathon over at AXN. Yeah! The show finished months ago and I’m way late. Ha! This then led to my October Dia obsession (Dia’s one of my favorites on the show). Afterward, I started looking over the internet about Dia and found out she has a band with her sister called Meg & Dia. Later on, I found myself downloading her and her band's songs.

Here are some of my favorites which kept playing on my music player:

Some info about Dia Frampton and her band:

Dia is a singer-songwriter from St. George, Utah. She’s half Korean and half-Dutch. Her career aspiration has been to be a voice-over actress, but her considerable singing talents may just steer her elsewhere. A life-long bookworm, Dia also writes novels and children's books.

Dia, together with her sister Meg were the founders of the band Meg & Dia which was formed in 2004.  The band is now a five-piece act with additional members Nicholas Price, Jonathan Snyder, and Carlo Gimenez. The band released its first album, Our Home Is Gone, in 2005. At the time, the band consisted of just the two Frampton sisters, and the album's tracks were mostly acoustic songs. Meg played guitar and provided back-up vocals while Dia sang. A year later, they released their second album, Something Real. In 2009 the band released Here, Here and Here. 2011 came their fourth album Cocoon.
